I Close my Eyes and Forget Who I Am!

Back in the times when I was in 10th grade around 14 yo. I was in my class and my math teacher was sitting behind me in one corner,  he gave us free time to self-study. I was reading, but I had some questions to ask him, but I was contemplating if I should go to him and ask them, between that I found him looking disconnected and lost in deep thought, I was concerned, so I went to him and asked him if he was fine! He replied to me saying," I am fine, It's just that I sometimes close my eyes and forget who I am, what my name is where I belong, I try to forget everything and my surroundings whenever I get free time I practice this, it helps me think straight and stay calm."

When I remembered that incident now, I was able to understand what he was trying to say was he practiced meditation. Though back then, he chose to explain this in a way a 14 yo. Could understand, I most likely wouldn't understand what meditation is, how it works, or why you do that, I hardly knew what real stress was when stress for me was limited to the curriculum, and scoring well in the exams.

My takeaway from this was, how it is important to alter our words, and the way we communicate to the listener's understanding, we must first understand the way they think, the way the message will be passed and understood in accordance with the listener's nature, their mental bandwidth of processing it, all of this is important in communication as it is a two-way street, and like it is said you go as far as you communicate, you don't just speak but speak to make sense for which you need to be understandable!
